Cardiac Rehabilitation
Following a major diagnosis or cardiovascular surgery, your doctor may prescribe rehabilitation. Northwest Health - Starke offers both cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation to help you get back to the things you enjoy.
Our cardiac rehabilitation program is designed for patients who are recovering from a heart attack, heart valve surgery, heart surgery or transplant, or an angioplasty or stent. Patients who are at risk for heart disease, who have angina or who have congestive heart failure may also benefit from the program.
In rehabilitation, your heart care team will help you establish a heart-healthy lifestyle through therapies designed to strengthen your heart and reduce your risk factors for certain heart and vascular conditions. To ensure that you’re ready to resume a normal or semi-normal lifestyle, rehabilitation also includes education on healthy nutrition as well as day-to-day safety precautions.
Admission to the cardiac rehabilitation program requires a physician referral. Click here to find a Northwest Health - Starke cardiologist near you.
