Due to the community’s positive response to last year’s Mammogram Marathon (Mammothon, for short) event, Northwest Health – La Porte hosted a Mammothon at the hospital. During this special event, woman age 40 or older received their annual screening mammogram and were also offered a bit of extra pampering with complimentary snacks and mini-manicures. Jackie Martinez was having a normal pregnancy until her water broke at 26 weeks. “I went to the Northwest Health – Porter ER, where I was admitted and placed on complete bed rest in hopes of delaying delivery,” said Jackie.
