3/18/2016 (Northern Indiana) - Qualifying women are able to have free breast and cervical cancer screenings this month, offered by the healthcare professionals of La Porte and Starke hospitals, and La Porte Physician Network. The screenings, which include a clinical breast exam and a PAP test, are for women between the ages of 20-65, who have not had a PAP test in one or more years, have not had a hysterectomy, and have not been diagnosed with cervical or breast cancer. 2/29/2016 (La Porte, Starke counties) - Indiana University Health La Porte and Starke Hospitals are urging the public to follow visiting recommendations within the hospitals to help prevent the spread of flu. Locally the hospitals have seen a slight increase in the number of flu cases, so the hospitals have enacted the visitor recommendations to discourage the spread of flu and keep patients and healthcare workers safe.
